Crate Warming

Clark cordially invites you to his crate warming party. He has outgrown his puppy crate and needed something with a little more head room. He would like to thank Shelby for the use of the crate. He loves it! Crate Sweet Crate!

Chris wanted to know why I was taking a picture of his butt. Clark wanted to know why I was using a flash while he was sleeping... I didn't have a good answer for either of them.

Under the Weather

Clark hasn't been feeling well. Hopefully he'll be better by the weekend. Poor little guy.

Puppy Ball

BFF's

These toys are disgustingly dirty. But they are Clark's buddies. These are the two toys he has been playing with the most since original puppy and Mr Football are both on th sewing table to be repaired... Here we see the three of them snuggled on the couch for a nap. That's Puppy II there on the left, Clark in the center and Mojo aka 'Kitty' on the right.

Tummy Ache

Clark has an upset stomach. He was NOT impressed with his white rice for dinner. But hopefully it will calm his belly down.

Clark Dawg

Clark is going through a phase. He wants to be a rapper. We want him to go to med school.... Note the angst in his eyes.

Ready

This is where Clark stands when he wants us to throw toys down the hall. Head slightly lowered, right in front of the bathroom door.

Clean Dog Smell

Guess who had a bath today! OK... All three of us used the shower at some point today... Clark is really good about taking a bath. He sat in the tub while I went to get the camera. And then again when I realized the memory card wasn't in it. Goooooood dog!

Growing up!

Clark is getting his Border Collie hair. It's getting long around his face, neck and tail. Just in time for winter.

Can we fix him?

Yes, we can!

Sorry we missed yesterday, the camera is still out of service. Hopefully things will be back to normal by next week... so that the two people who look at this thing won't be disappointed!

Bath time

No new pictures until I figure out what's wrong with the camera. Here is a shot from Clark's first bath. That's the same towel he's wrapped in here.

Smile Clark!

The digital camera is not currently working. So here is a cell phone picture of Clark ignoring me while gnawing on a rawhide bone. From the right angle he looks like he's smoking one of those giant cigars, like a clown would have... But of course I couldn't get that shot on the cell phone.

Concern

It seems Clark has a keen sense of "worry". Is that a sense? He might have picked this up from me... maybe. He's overly concerned with what the cats are doing at all times. He isn't fond of anyone leaving the room without him. He checks out every slight noise or movement in the house. This is what he's supposed to do, it's the working dog in him. But sometimes it's just funny. I was trying to take a picture of Puppy after his eye popped out. But all I could see in the corner of my eye was Clark looking longingly at Puppy, trying to figure out what the heck I was doing to him. Clark and Puppy were reunited after this picture. Puppy lost his second eye a short time later.

Floppy Ear

Here's some vintage Clark because I'm exhausted. Back in the day Clark had one floppy ear, we dind't think it would ever pop up... But he's allll ears now.

Boundaries

Clark is great with boundaries.... most of the time. He's not allowed upstairs, but he'll test us by putting his front paws on the bottom step. He's allowed on the couch when their is a blanket to lay on. He seems to understand this MOST of the time, but might jump up if he's exciting playing with a toy... As he gets older we throw him more physical and mental boundaries and they seems to be getting more and more challenging for us too. Letting Clark on the couch was big for me. But today we left Clark in his crate alone for a full work day for the first time. Chris left for work at 9 and I didn't get home until 5:30. It was my first day at a new job and I don't have time to come home for lunch anymore. Clark was fine, he was excited to see me and seems to have forgiven me for his long day. I'm sure it was much worse for me.

Happy New Year

Clark is moving full speed ahead into the new year. Today we took a trip over to Buttonwoods beach for the 15th annual New Years Day Family Swim. Only two swimmers this year... but plenty of sleet and mud for everyone.

Year in Review

It's tough to do a Year in Review for a dog who is only six months old. It makes it a little more difficult when this dog has only lived with us for 4 of those months. How much is that in dog years?

Old Lady Kent

Nobody likes to be wet and cold. Clark is no exception. When he comes inside I wrap him an a towel and wipe his paws. I think he likes it, or at least he puts up with it because he knows I like to do it.

New Toys

Clark would like to take this time to remind Santa that he has been a very good boy this year. And also to remind Chris and Lauren that he could have been much worse.
