Forgivable Clark
Please forgive me. I know I did something wrong, see my ears are back! But I'm so cute, look I'm laying down and smiling! How can you NOT forgive me! I'm being good, and I'm sorry! Can I have a cookie? no? Ok. Maybe later?!

Hunting for food
Clark eats fast. Like SUPERMAN fast. So we've been spreading his food around on the kitchen floor to slow him down. It may seem mean, but it seriously still takes him under 5 minutes to eat his entire meal. I thinkhe enjoy the challenge.

Concern
It seems Clark has a keen sense of "worry". Is that a sense? He might have picked this up from me... maybe. He's overly concerned with what the cats are doing at all times. He isn't fond of anyone leaving the room without him. He checks out every slight noise or movement in the house. This is what he's supposed to do, it's the working dog in him. But sometimes it's just funny. I was trying to take a picture of Puppy after his eye popped out. But all I could see in the corner of my eye was Clark looking longingly at Puppy, trying to figure out what the heck I was doing to him. Clark and Puppy were reunited after this picture. Puppy lost his second eye a short time later.

Boundaries
Clark is great with boundaries.... most of the time. He's not allowed upstairs, but he'll test us by putting his front paws on the bottom step. He's allowed on the couch when their is a blanket to lay on. He seems to understand this MOST of the time, but might jump up if he's exciting playing with a toy... As he gets older we throw him more physical and mental boundaries and they seems to be getting more and more challenging for us too. Letting Clark on the couch was big for me. But today we left Clark in his crate alone for a full work day for the first time. Chris left for work at 9 and I didn't get home until 5:30. It was my first day at a new job and I don't have time to come home for lunch anymore. Clark was fine, he was excited to see me and seems to have forgiven me for his long day. I'm sure it was much worse for me.

Puppy Prison
Clark likes his crate. He'll go in to take a nap when he's feeling sleepy or hide in there when theirs a lot going on at the house. He knows that's his house and he is comfortable there. It's also a primo location. He's nice and close to the warm radiator in the winter and has a great view of the door so he can always see who's coming or going.

Clark is loving the snow. This picture is from 7 o'clock Saturday morning. By the time it turned into sleet and freezing rain the snow was as deep as his legs.
He seems to be making a speedy recovery from his surgery. We are trying to keep him calm, but it has been tough. All he wants to do is run and play.
